Fig. 5 Checking the manual shift shaft

Check that the manual shift shaft is in position P (fig. 5).

Keep it straight when installing the gear selection cable.

Bending the gear selection cable as shown in Figure 5 will damage the cable, which may cause the cable to come loose when shifting.

Fig. 6 Correct installation of the selector lever on the manual shift shaft lever: 1 - spring; 2 - gear selection cable; 3 - manual shift shaft lever; 4 - the front of the vehicle

Install the selector lever on the manual shift shaft lever so that the spring of the gear selector cable end points towards the front of the vehicle (fig.6).

Install the selector lever on the manual shift shaft lever so that the gear selection cable is not loaded.

Make sure the end of the manual shift shaft lever comes out of the gear selection cable lug. Install the gear selector cable into the bracket.

Adjusting the automatic transmission mode selector cable

If during the operation of the car there is a discrepancy between the positions of the selector and the actual mode of operation of the automatic transmission, for example:

  • - when the mode (P) is turned on, the output shaft of the gearbox is not blocked (the car moves by itself, rolls down on a slope);
  • - car starts moving in mode (N);
  • - car does not move forward in mode (D);
  • - the car does not move backward in (R) mode, - the selector cable needs to be adjusted
