We replace the rear suspension springs in case of breakage or "drawdown" of one or both springs
Springs must be replaced in pairs, even if only one is faulty
Springs differ in stiffness and are marked with marks on the coils depending on the stiffness class
Springs of the same stiffness should be on both sides of the car
We prepare the car for the task and hang the back of the car on stands
Remove the wheel from the side of the spring to be replaced
We clean the threaded connections of the lower transverse arm and treat them with penetrating lubricant
Disconnect the anti-roll bar from the lower transverse arm
We mark the position of the adjusting bolt in order to restore the original rear wheel alignment during assembly
Using two 17 wrenches, loosen the bolt nut
We install a jack or an adjustable stop under the lower arm and raise it a little, thereby relieving the load from the bolt
Using a 17 socket wrench, unscrew the bolt securing the lower transverse arm to the trailing arm
Slowly lower the jack until the suspension spring is completely loosened
Remove the spring
Remove the upper rubber support from the spring
If the support is strongly compressed or deformed, we replace it
Before installing a new spring, we put the upper support on the coil so that the ends of the spring fit snugly into the groove of the support
Install the spring in reverse order
When installing the spring, we rest its lower coil against a special protrusion of the support cup of the lower transverse arm
Replacing the second spring in the same way
