Remove the brake pedal for replacement when jamming or increased play
We prepare the car and disconnect the negative battery terminal
Remove the decorative bottom shield
Remove the instrument panel trim to the left and right of the steering column
Remove the instrument cluster
Disconnect the wiring harness from the brake light switch
Remove the harness holder from the hole in the brake pedal bracket and move the harness to the side
We unscrew the bolt that secures the brake pedal bracket to the instrument panel frame
Disconnect the return spring from the brake pedal
We take out the cotter pin and remove the finger connecting the pedal to the pusher fork of the vacuum booster
Unscrew the three bolts through the opening of the instrument cluster and remove the brake pedal bracket mounting plate
Unscrew the four fastening nuts inside the passenger compartment and remove the brake pedal bracket assembly with the pedal and the brake light switch from the vacuum booster studs
Install parts in reverse order
Check and, if necessary, adjust the position of the brake pedal
