Replace hoses and tubes if damaged
In addition, as a preventive measure, we recommend replacing the hoses every 100 thousand kilometers or 5 years of vehicle operation (whichever comes first), even if they are not externally damaged
The rubber on the hoses gets old and they can suddenly burst when braking
Replacing brake hoses
You will need a special "11" wrench for the brake pipes.
To replace the rear wheel brake hose, unscrew the nut securing the brake pipe to the lower end of the hose
Remove the tip from the bracket on the body and drain the brake fluid from the hose into a container. Inspect the hose end retainer.
Replace badly deformed or corroded retainer.
Similarly, disconnect the brake pipe from the upper hose end and remove the hose.
Install the new hose in the reverse order of removal.
Make sure that the hose is not twisted along the axis during installation.
Replace the second rear brake hose in the same way.
In order to replace the front wheel brake hose, disconnect the brake pipe from the upper end of the hose, as was done when replacing the rear wheel brake hose
Unscrew the lower end of the hose from the front wheel brake slave cylinder and remove the hose.
Install the new hose in the reverse order of removal.
Make sure that the hose is not twisted along the axis during installation.
Replace the second front wheel brake hose in the same way.
After replacing the hoses, bleed the brake system. (See, "Replacing the Renault Logan brake fluid").
Replacing brake pipes
The connections of tubes to all units of the brake system and hoses, as well as the principles of their replacement, are the same. All tube nuts are made on a turnkey basis "on 11"
The work is shown on the example of a tube connecting the brake hose to the working cylinder of the rear wheel brake mechanism.
You will need a special "11" wrench for the brake pipes.
Remove the tube from the holder on the rear suspension arm and beam
Unscrew the nuts securing the brake pipe to the hose end and to the rear brake slave cylinder, remove the pipe.
If some tube does not unscrew, then cut it off or bite it without sparing and unscrew the remaining end of the tube with a tool head.
Install the new tube in the reverse order of removal.
After tube replacement bleed the air from the brake system (see "Replacing Renault Logan Brake Fluid")
Brake pipes located on the base of the body are changed in the same way.
