Mazda 3 manual transmission assembly
Installation of individual components of the differential, as well as verification procedures, are given below
Mazda 3 motion stabilization systems
Traction control system (TCS)
The traction control system (PBS) improves the traction properties of the car and traffic safety by regulating the torque developed by the engine and braking the slipping wheel
Replacing the accessory drive belt Mazda 3
Check the position of the automatic drive belt tensioner indicator mark (fig. 1)
If the position of the mark is not correct, the drive belt must be replaced.
Design and operation of the Mazda 3 transmission mechanism
The transmission mechanism (Fig. 1) consists of three pairs of clutches, a brake, a band brake, a one-way clutch and two pairs of single planetary gears
Air filter
The car is equipped with an air filter that can deodorize the air and purify it from pollen and dust.
The air filter consists of a deodorizer surrounded by a dust filter.
The starter can be turned on if the range switch is in the "P" (parking) or "N" (neutral) position (Fig. 1.)
In the "P" (parking) position of the range switch, the front wheels are mechanically blocked from rotation.
Mazda 3 manual transmission disassembly
Disassemble in the order shown in Figure 1.
Mazda 3 coolant change
Measure the temperature of the coolant and its density with a thermometer and a hydrometer.
Assembly and disassembly of the intermediate shaft Mazda 3
The connecting shaft components are shown in fig. 1.
Checking and replacing the 1.6 engine idle speed controller
Preparing the car
Pull out the parking brake lever (fig. 1) several times.
Depress the brake pedal several times.
