We remove the generator from the engine if a complete repair of the generator or its replacement is required
The peculiarity and complexity of the work on removing the generator depends on the configuration of the car.
If a car with a K7M engine without air conditioning and without power steering then:
Remove the protective cap from the nut 1 (Fig. 1) and disconnect the block 2 of the wiring harness from the generator 3.
Unscrew the nut 1 with a 13 head.
Disconnect the wire ends from the "B+" terminal of the generator.
We cut the belt 1 with a knife or wire cutters (Fig. 2) and remove it.
(The belt cannot be reused, so we cut it and replace it).
With a head of 10, turn off and remove the upper and lower bolts 5 securing the generator to the bracket 4 (Figure 1).
Remove the generator.
For vehicles with K7M engine without climate system and without power steering
Remove the right front wheel.
Remove the right engine mudguard.
Remove the front right wheel arch cover.
Install the generator in the reverse order of removal.
Install and fix on the pulley 2, (Figure 3) of the crankshaft a tool for installing the accessory drive belt 67.7834-9703.
Install a new belt 1 and turn the crankshaft pulley head 18 until the belt is fully installed.
Tighten the alternator mounting bolts. In this case, the tightening torques for threaded connections:
- - bolts for fastening the generator to the bracket - 21 Nm (2.1 kgf.m);
- - generator wire fastening nut - 14 Nm (1.4 kgf.m) (replaceable head 10 and 13, torque wrench).
The marking of the alternator drive belt on a car without power steering and without air conditioning is 4RK 718 (four-wedge, 718 mm long).
If the car is equipped with a K7M engine with power steering without air conditioning, then:
Remove the protective cap from the nut 1 (Fig. 4) and disconnect the block 4 of the instrument panel wiring harness from the generator 2.
Unscrew the nut 1 with a 13 head.
Disconnect the wire ends from the "B+" terminal of the generator.
With a head of 10, we turn off the adjusting bolt 2 by 3 ... 4 turns, and the bolt 1 (Fig. 5).
Remove the right front wheel
Remove the right engine mudguard.
Remove the right front wheel arch cover.
With a head of 10, we unscrew the lower bolt 1 by 3-4 turns, fastening the adjusting bar to the bracket and loosen the tension of the belt 2 of the auxiliary equipment drive .
Remove the accessory drive belt from the pulleys.
With a 10 head, turn off and remove the two lower bolts 1 and 2 (Fig. 7) securing the generator 4 to the bracket.
Unscrew and remove the upper bolt 5 securing the generator to the bracket.
Remove the generator.
Installation
For cars with a K7M engine without a climate system with power steering.
Install the generator in the reverse order of removal.
In this case, the tightening torques of the threaded connections:
- - bolts for fastening the generator to the bracket - 21 Nm (2.1 kgf.m);
- - bolt for fastening the adjusting plate of the tension roller - 21 Nm (2.1 kgf.m) (replaceable head 10, knob and extension, torque wrench);
- - generator wire fastening nut - 14 Nm (1.4 kgf.m) (replaceable head 13 ratchet knobs, extension cord, torque wrench).
Marking of the drive belt for auxiliary units of a car with power steering and without air conditioning - 5K1110 (five-wedge, 1110 mm long).
When replacing a belt, the tensioner pulley must also be replaced.
If the car is equipped with air conditioning and power steering then:
Remove the right front wheel.
Remove the front bumper.
With a 16 spanner, turn the tension roller 1 clockwise.
We block the tension roller with a 6 mm hex wrench.
Remove belt 2 accessory drives
Remove the screws securing the air baffle.
Remove air baffle 1
Turn off the top bolts 1, fastening the radiator bracket to the car body with a head 10
Disconnect the brackets 2, fixing the radiator from the radiator
We remove the radiator 1 of the engine cooling system assembly with the condenser 2 of the air conditioner from the lower mounts 3, and move it towards the left wing of the car
Using a 13 key, unscrew the nut 2 securing the generator wire and disconnect the wire from the generator.
Disconnect block 3 of the wiring harness of the instrument panel of the generator
Head 10 unscrew the top bolt 4, fastening the generator.
With a 10 head, we unscrew the bolt 1 of the lower mounting of the generator and remove the generator together with the lower mounting bolt.
Installing a generator with a climate system and power steering
Install the generator in the reverse order of removal. In this case, the tightening torques for threaded connections:
- - bolts for fastening the generator to the bracket - 21 Nm (2.1 kgf.m);
- - generator wire fastening nut - 14 Nm (1.4 kgf.m) (replaceable head 13, ratchet knob, extension cord, torque wrench).
Marking of the drive belt for auxiliary units of a car with power steering and air conditioning - 5K 1747 (five-wedge, 1747 mm long).
When replacing the belt, the idler and idler rollers must also be replaced.
If a car with a K4M engine with power steering without air conditioning then:
Remove the front right wheel.
Remove the right engine mudguard.
Remove the accessory drive belt.
We unscrew the two nuts 1, fastening the protection of the fuel rail and remove the protection 2 of the fuel rail.
Unscrew the two nuts 1 securing the fuel rail guard and remove the fuel rail guard 2.
Disconnect fitting 3 of the fuel pipe from the fuel rail.
Using a 13 key, unscrew the nut securing the generator wire. Disconnect the wire from the generator
Disconnect the wiring harness block from the generator.
Set aside the branch of the wiring harness to the generator
With a 13 head, we unscrew the bolt securing the power steering tube to the cylinder block.
Using a 10 socket, unscrew the bolt securing the bracket for attaching the power steering pipeline to the generator and remove the bracket.
With a head of 10, we unscrew the upper bolt securing the generator.
With a 10 head, we unscrew the bolt of the lower mounting of the generator and remove the generator together with the bolt of the lower mounting.
