We remove the generator from the engine if a complete repair of the generator or its replacement is required

The peculiarity and complexity of the work on removing the generator depends on the configuration of the car.

If a car with a K7M engine without air conditioning and without power steering then:

Disconnecting the wires from the generator: 1 - the nut that secures the wire to the "B+" terminal of the generator; 2 - block of the wiring harness to the terminal "13" of the generator; 3 - generator; 4 - generator mounting bracket; 5 - alternator mounting bolts

Remove the protective cap from the nut 1 (Fig. 1) and disconnect the block 2 of the wiring harness from the generator 3.

Unscrew the nut 1 with a 13 head.

Disconnect the wire ends from the "B+" terminal of the generator.

Removing the generator: 1 - auxiliary equipment drive belt; 2 - the top bolt of fastening of the generator; 3 - generator

We cut the belt 1 with a knife or wire cutters (Fig. 2) and remove it.

(The belt cannot be reused, so we cut it and replace it).

Disconnect the wire ends from the "B+" terminal of the generator.

Removing the generator: 1 - the upper bolt of the adjusting bar; 2 - adjusting bolt; 3 - generator; 4 - the upper bolt of the generator; 5 - accessory drive belt

With a head of 10, we turn off the adjusting bolt 2 by 3 ... 4 turns, and the bolt 1 (Fig. 5).

Remove the right front wheel

Remove the right engine mudguard.

Remove the right front wheel arch cover.

Removing the drive belt for attachments: 1 - the lower bolt for fastening the adjusting bar; 2 - accessory drive belt

With a head of 10, we unscrew the lower bolt 1 by 3-4 turns, fastening the adjusting bar to the bracket and loosen the tension of the belt 2 of the auxiliary equipment drive .

Remove the accessory drive belt from the pulleys.

generator removal: 1 - generator fastening bolt; 2 - alternator mounting bolt; 3 - auxiliary equipment drive belt; 4 - generator; 5 - upper alternator mounting bolt

With a 10 head, turn off and remove the two lower bolts 1 and 2 (Fig. 7) securing the generator 4 to the bracket.

Unscrew and remove the upper bolt 5 securing the generator to the bracket.

Remove the generator.

Installation

Removing the accessory drive belt on a car with a K7M engine without air conditioning with power steering: 1 - adjusting bolt; 2 - a bolt of fastening of a tension roller; 3 - tension roller; 4 - auxiliary drive belt; A - measuring point

For cars with a K7M engine without a climate system with power steering.

Install the generator in the reverse order of removal.
