The stabilizer serves to stabilize the vehicle while driving
We remove the stabilizer to replace its rod in case of damage or to replace its attachment pads.
Tearing, cracking or swelling of the rubber may occur on rubber bushings and pads during prolonged use.
Due to the wear of the rubber parts of the stabilizer, there is play and knocking when driving over bumps.
Hang out the front of the car.
Using a 13 wrench or socket, unscrew the stabilizer bar nut (Fig. 1) to the suspension arm, holding the screw from turning with a TorxT-40 wrench.
Remove the bottom rubber bushing.
A metal washer is installed in the recess of the end of the sleeve facing the nut (Fig. 3).
Remove the screw with the upper rubber bushing and plastic washer.
Hand pull down the end of the rod and take out the rubber-metal intermediate sleeve.
We also remove the details of attaching the stabilizer bar to another lever.
Install new parts in reverse order.
When installing the intermediate sleeve, orient it with the grooves located on the outer surface of the sleeve upwards.
We tighten the nuts of the screws securing the stabilizer bar to the levers with a torque of 14 Nm when the car is on wheels.
To replace the stabilizer bar cushion with an 18 head with an extension, unscrew the bolt securing the cushion bracket and subframe to the body (Fig. 7).
Using a 10 spanner, unscrew the nut securing the cushion bracket to the subframe (Fig. 8).
We lower the bracket, removing its pin from the hole in the subframe, and remove the bracket, removing its front end from the groove of the subframe.
Remove the pillow from the bar.
Install the new stabilizer bar cushion in reverse order.
The slot on the cushion should be located in front (in the direction of travel).
Similarly, we replace the pillow on the other side of the stabilizer bar.
If it is necessary to dismantle the rod, disconnect both of its ends from the suspension arms and remove the cushion brackets.
Remove the stabilizer bar.
Inspecting the stabilizer bar.
There should be no deep abrasive wear in the places where the pillows are installed.
Deep wear areas greatly increase the chance of rod breakage.
Install the anti-roll bar in reverse order.
