Install the cylinder heads onto the cylinder block with new head gaskets
Install the cylinder head bolts.
The cylinder head bolts are tightened in two stages.
If any cylinder head bolt is broken or deformed, replace it.
Apply a light coat of engine oil to the threads and under the heads of the mounting bolts.
Install the washers on the mounting bolts.
Install and evenly tighten the ten cylinder head bolts in several passes to 54 Nm (see fig. 1).
If any bolt fails to achieve the correct torque, replace the bolt.
Mark the front of the cylinder head bolts with paint.
Tighten the cylinder head bolts 90° in the above sequence.
Check that the inked mark is 90° from the original position.
Install the hexagon head bolts.
Apply a light coat of engine oil to the threads and under the heads of the mounting bolts.
Install and tighten the cylinder head bolts with an 8 mm Allen key to a tightening torque of 18 Nm.
