The fuel module is removed to replace the elements of the fuel module, as well as when replacing the fuel tank
We prepare the car for the task and reduce the pressure in the fuel system, as described in the previous article
Disconnect the negative battery terminal
Remove the rear seat cushion
Pry off with a screwdriver and remove the cover of the fuel module hatch
Disconnect the wiring harness block from the fuel module by depressing the latch
Remove the locking bracket of the fuel line coupling and pull the coupling out of the opening of the fuel module
We unscrew the eight bolts (the bolts must be unscrewed carefully so as not to drop)
Remove the pressure ring
Remove the module from the fuel tank opening.
Remove the module carefully, turning it so as not to damage or displace the float of the fuel gauge sensor
Drain the fuel from the module into a container prepared in advance
Remove the fuel gauge sensor from the fuel module, for this:
Disconnect the fuel level sensor wire block from the fuel module flange
Unfasten the latch and remove the sensor from the fuel module body
Remove the retaining rings from the guide pins of the fuel pump holder and remove both fingers from the holes in the holder
Squeeze the clamps of the bracket and remove the fuel pump holder from the fuel module housing
Disconnect the upper fuel pump wiring harness from the fuel module flange
Release the clamps and remove the fuel pump from the fuel module housing
Disconnect the block of wires from the fuel pump by squeezing the clamps
Remove the O-ring from the fuel pump
Install the fuel pump in reverse order
Replace the pump sealing ring with a new one
To remove the fuel pressure regulator
Pry off with a screwdriver and remove the fuel pressure regulator from the fuel module body
Install the regulator in reverse order
Before installing the regulator, we replace the o-rings with new ones and lubricate with grease
Replacing the fuel filter
It is recommended to replace the fuel filter after eight years of operation or after 80,000 km of vehicle mileage
Based on operating experience, it is necessary to replace the fuel filter after 30,000 km of vehicle run
Release the two latches and remove the bracket from the fuel module body
Installing a new filter, assembling the fuel module and installing it in place
After installing the module, we check the fuel system for leaks
