We replace the crankshaft seals when repairing the engine or if there is oil leakage from under the seals
Replacing the front crankshaft oil seal
We prepare the car for work and disconnect the negative battery terminal
Remove the right front wheel
Remove the mudguard of the right front wheel
Remove the accessory drive belt
Fix the crankshaft pulley with the device shown in the figure from turning and unscrew the pulley mounting bolt
We press the crankshaft pulley with the tool shown in Figure 2
Pry off with a screwdriver and remove the oil seal from the timing chain cover
Lubricate the working edge of the new oil seal with engine oil and install it in the timing chain cover, aligning the working edge inside the engine
We press the oil seal into the front cover of the cylinder block until it stops using a suitable mandrel
Install all removed parts and assemblies in reverse order
Replacing the crankshaft rear oil seal
Removing the automatic transmission
Fix the crankshaft pulley with the fixture shown in the figure
We unscrew eight bolts and remove the drive disk
Pry off with a screwdriver and remove the stuffing box from the stuffing box holder
After removing the oil seal, make sure that the crankshaft is not damaged.
Otherwise, you need to sand the surface with sandpaper with a roughness of 400
Applying multipurpose grease to the lip of the new oil seal
We press the gland flush with the rear edge of the gland holder
We install the drive disk and tighten the bolts of its fastening in the sequence shown in the figure
Install the removed parts in reverse order
