The front brake cylinder block is changed if brake fluid leaks through the o-rings, if the piston protective covers are damaged, or if the pistons are jammed due to corrosion
You will need: key "14", pliers, punch, hammer.
Remove the caliper from the car (see "Replacing the Niva Chevrolet front brake caliper").
Remove the cylinder block with the brake caliper (see Replacing Niva Chevrolet brake pads).
Remove the brake pads.
Clamping the brake caliper in a vise with soft metal jaws, we use a punch to cut off the cylinder block retainer.
At the same time, we sink the cylinder block retainer with a rod with a diameter of 3-4 mm and, by hitting the cylinder block with a plastic hammer, we begin to move the block along the brake caliper guides.
Sliding the cylinder block by 1.5–2.0 mm, remove the rod.
Using a hammer with a plastic head or a mallet, we knock out the cylinder block from the caliper guides.
Cylinder block and brake caliper.
Remove the retainer and its spring from the seat of the brake cylinder block
The retainer enters the caliper hole and limits the movement of the cylinder block
We assemble and install the front brake mechanism in the reverse order.
To facilitate assembly, we file chamfers from the guides of the cylinder block.
Having sunk the latch into the socket of the block, insert the block into the grooves of the caliper.
With a plastic-headed hammer, hammer the cylinder block until the latch enters the caliper hole.
Install the caliper on the car and bleed the brakes.
