The fuel rail is removed to check and replace the injectors, as well as when replacing the rail itself or the intake pipe
You will need: hexagon "5", screwdriver, wrench "17" (two).
Remove the reservoir from the intake pipe (see Replacing the reservoir gasket).
Drain some of the coolant by removing the plug on the cylinder block (see "Changing the coolant").
Loosen the heater radiator hose clamp and remove it from the cylinder head pipe.
Unfasten or cut the plastic clamp that secures the injector wire block to the bulkhead.
Disconnect the injector wire block from the control system wiring harness block.
Using the “17” key, unscrew the fitting of the fuel supply pipe, holding the hose tip with a wrench of the same size. Similarly, disconnect the tube fitting from the drain pipe hose.
Having disconnected the tubes and hoses, we control the condition of the rubber sealing rings put on the ends of the tubes
With a “5” hexagon, we unscrew the two screws securing the fuel rail to the intake pipe
Pull the rail along the axes of the injectors, remove all four injectors from the intake pipe holes, remove the rail assembly with the fuel pressure regulator, fuel pipes, injectors and wiring harness.
All injectors must remain on the fuel rail.
If any injector remains in the intake pipe, the spring retainer and injector body O-ring must be replaced.
To remove the fuel supply pipe to the rail, use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the screw securing the tube holder
Remove the pipe from the ramp
The tip of the tube is sealed with a rubber ring
Removing the ramp on a car from 2009 onwards
Production models since 2009 are slightly different, but the principle is the same
Relieve fuel pressure
Disconnect the negative battery terminal
Remove the receiver (described in the article - Replacing the gasket of the receiver of the car Niva Chevrolet)
Squeezing the spring clip of the wire block, disconnect the block from the nozzle connector
In the same way, disconnect the wire blocks from the remaining injectors.
Remove the wiring harness from the ramp
There are two ways to disconnect the rail from the fuel system.
In the first method, use a 17 key to unscrew the fitting of the rail tube, holding the upper end of the fuel supply hose to the rail with the same key on the hexagon
Remove the hose tip from the ramp tube.
The connection between the upper end of the hose and the ramp tube is sealed with a rubber ring put on the tube.
In the second method, by squeezing the latch, disconnect the lower end of the hose from the end of the fuel pipe.
Using a 5 hexagon, unscrew the two screws securing the ramp to the intake pipe
We pull the ramp along the axes of the injectors and, overcoming the resistance of the rubber sealing rings of the injectors, remove the injectors from the holes of the inlet pipe
Install the ramp in reverse order.
We replace damaged rubber sealing rings with new ones and apply engine oil to them during installation.
The tightening torque of the rail mounting screws is 9–13 Nm, and the fuel pipe fittings are 20–34 Nm.
