We remove the instrument cluster to replace backlights or control lights, or to replace the dashboard itself
Usually, in case of failure, the instrument cluster is replaced with a new one.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal
Remove the outdoor lighting switch, for this:
- pry the switch with a screwdriver
- remove the switch from the instrument panel
- disconnect the wire block from the switch
Next, set the steering column to its lowest position
Using a Phillips screwdriver, we unscrew the two screws of the upper fastening of the instrument panel panel
With the same screwdriver, we unscrew three screws of the lower fastening of the instrument panel shield by three turns
Pry off with a screwdriver and take out the plug located on the bottom right of the instrument panel panel
Pry off with a screwdriver and take out the plug located on the top right of the instrument panel panel
Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the instrument panel panel
Pry off the center plug with a screwdriver
Removing the center plug
Remove the edge of the instrument panel shield, overcoming the resistance of the latch and sliding the shield to the right
Remove the shield from the instrument panel
Marking the location of the wire blocks
Disconnect the pads from the switches located on the shield
Remove the instrument panel
Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the instrument cluster on the right side
Unscrew the two screws on the left side
By tilting the instrument cluster, move it away from the instrument panel
Disconnect the two wire blocks from the instrument cluster connectors
Remove the instrument cluster
To replace the backlight bulbs or control lamps, turn the socket counterclockwise and remove the socket with the lamp.
Remove the lamp from the socket and replace it with a new one
In the same way, we replace the remaining lamps
Install the instrument cluster in reverse order
