The parking brake must hold the vehicle on a 25% slope when the lever is moved in the vehicle interior by 7-9 teeth (clicks) of the ratchet
Locate an overpass, loading ramp, etc., close to where your vehicle is parked to check if the parking brake is properly adjusted. height H=1.25 m with entrance length L=5 m.
This ratio corresponds to a slope of 25%.
In the absence of such a ramp for a simplified check of the parking brake, place the car on a level area.
Place the shift lever in neutral position, fully raise the parking brake lever in the cabin.
Get out of the car and try to move it.
If you succeeded, you need to urgently adjust the parking brake actuator.
Adjust the parking brake drive from below the car mounted on a lift or inspection ditch.
You will need: two "12" keys, cobra-type pliers or pliers.
Hold the adjusting nut with wrench 1 and loosen the locknut with wrench 2
Holding the cable with pliers, wrapping or unscrewing the adjusting nut, achieve a stroke of the lever by 7-9 clicks.
Tighten the locknut.
Make a few full strokes of the lever, then lower the lever as far as it will go.
Turn the rear wheels by hand.
They should rotate evenly, without jerks.
If not, have the parking brake actuator or rear wheel brakes repaired.
