Check that the distance from the floor mat to the center of the top surface of the pedal support pad is correct.

Removing and installing Mazda 3 connecting shaft

The components of the front drive shaft are shown in fig. 1

Preliminary check of intermediate shaft

Check that the connecting shaft is not twisted or cracked

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery

Remove the following items:

Removing and installing Mazda 3 speedometer sensor

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Remove the battery and its tray.

Checking and replacing the 1.6 engine idle speed controller

Preparing the car

The operation of the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS/TCS) or DSC On-Board Diagnostics is essentially the same as the previous 323 (BJ), with the following exceptions:

• - diagnostic codes, PID data monitor functions and active commands functions have been changed;
• - removed TBS pin of DLC connector;
