Tools required: wrenches 19, 10, 17, Torx T30, socket 18, ball joint puller, screwdrivers
We prepare the car for the task and install it on a viewing ditch or lift
Setting the wheels in a straight-line position
Remove the crankcase protection
In the cabin under the instrument panel, unscrew the terminal connection nut
We remove the bolt from the hole of the terminal connection of the intermediate shaft with the steering gear shaft
We shift the universal joint yoke from the tip of the pinion shaft
Loosen the front wheel bolts
Raise the front of the car and place it on supports
Remove the left front wheel
Remove the engine protection and the left mudguard
Unscrew the bolt securing the power steering tube to the subframe
Remove the bolt from the tube bracket hole
We unscrew the two front bolts of the steering gear thermal shield
We unscrew the rear bolt of the steering gear thermal shield
Remove the wiring harness from the holder on the thermal screen
And remove the thermal screen
We unscrew the two bolts of the rear suspension support of the power plant
Remove the support
With a screwdriver, bend forward the holder of the power steering hoses to gain access to the tube nuts
Vypresswe wrap the fingers of the ball bearings of the tie rod ends from the bosses of the swivel levers “described in the article replacing the rods”
Unscrew the pressure tube fastening nut
Put the handset aside
Unscrew the drain tube nut
And take the phone aside
It is advisable to plug the pipes so that dirt does not get in
The sealing rubber rings of the tubes must be replaced with new ones
Remove the right wheel
Unscrew the right steering gear bolt
Unscrew the left steering gear bolt
Remove the bolts from the crankcase holes
Disconnect the steering gear from the front suspension subframe
By tilting the power plant forward, we shift the steering gear to the left
And remove the steering mechanism by removing it through the opening in the niche of the left wheel
Install all parts in reverse order
When installing the steering mechanism, you need to pay attention that the rack is in the middle position.
We tighten the steering gear mounting bolts with a torque of 105 Nm
We tighten the nut of the bolt of the terminal connection of the steering column with the shank of the gear shaft to a torque of 21 Nm
We tighten the bolts of the rear support bracket of the power plant with a torque of 105 Nm
If during the operation of the car an increased steering play was observed, accompanied by a slight tapping of the rack when driving through bumps in the road, you need to adjust the gap between the rack stop and the rack to the minimum by turning the stop adjusting bolt clockwise
To adjust, remove the lock washer of the bolt with a screwdriver
And turn the adjusting bolt with a hexagon by 10
Do not overtighten the adjusting bolt. If you drag the rack stop, then there will be no self-stabilization of the front wheels, as a result of which the car will not adhere to a straight-line trajectory of movement, and when exiting a turn, the front wheels will not tend to take a position for driving in a straight line
After assembly, you need to bleed the power steering system
After that, we check and, if necessary, adjust the setting of the wheel angles.
