Preparing the car for work. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

If we do the work without a lift, then we slow down the car with a parking brake

Install the stops under the rear wheels of the car

Loosen the nut of the steering knuckle hub and wheel bolts

Raise the front of the car, and remove the corresponding front wheel.

We press the tie rod end pin out of the steering knuckle hole

We press the lock of the wheel speed sensor wire block

Disconnect the block from the sensor

Remove the sensor wire holder from the front suspension arm

Remove the wire holder from the steering knuckle bracket

We press the pin of the ball joint of the front suspension arm from the hole of the steering knuckle

Unscrew the nut of the front wheel hub.

Remove the brake disc - "Replacing the brake disc Renault Megan 2"

Remove the shank from the hole of the steering knuckle hub - "Replacing the drive (K4J, K4M engines)"

We knock out the shank of the outer hinge with a hammer through a wooden spacer from the steering knuckle - "Replacing the Renault Megan 2 front shock strut"

Unscrew and remove the bolt from the steering knuckle hole

By hammer blows, we press the steering knuckle out of the shock strut.

Install

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Torque tighten:

  • - bolts for fastening the shock absorber to the steering knuckle (105 Nm);
  • - bolts for fastening the ball bearings of the suspension arms (62 Nm) ;
  • - Tie rod end ball joint pin nut (37 Nm);
  • - brake disc mounting screws (140 Nm);
  • - hub nut (280 Nm);
  • - rail mounting bolts pads (105 Nm);
  • - wheel bolts (110 Nm).

Depress the brake pedal several times to set the pistons to their working position.
