Installation

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

The steering wheel must fit freely into the splines (the splines have guide sections).

Be careful not to damage the splines of the orienting areas. Be sure to replace the mounting bolt after each removal of the steering wheel.

Be sure to replace the gimbal yoke bolt and eccentric nut after each removal.

The new steering column has an eccentric nut for the steering shaft universal joint.

Installing the steering shaft yoke bolt and eccentric nut

Respect the direction of installation of the bolt and eccentric nut of the steering shaft universal joint yoke (Fig. 45).

Tighten the eccentric nut and bolt.

Fix the terminal connection nut in the socket (hole on the steering shaft universal joint yoke).

Torque tighten:

  • - steering column nuts (21 Nm);
  • - the bolt of the terminal connection of the steering shaft universal joint yoke (21 Nm).

Connect the wires to the battery terminals, starting with the positive terminal.

Perform a complete check with the diagnostic tool.

Delete from the memory the malfunctions that appeared as a result of the work performed with the diagnostic tool.
