On Renault Megane 2 cars, block headlights are used that combine low and high beam headlights and turn indicators

In addition, there are parking lights in the headlights.

The dipped and main beam headlights are switched on by the left steering column switch for outdoor lighting using a relay.

Control voltage is applied to the high beam relay coils from the ambient light switch when it is in the headlights on position.

Regardless of the position of the outdoor light switch, you can turn on the high beam headlights briefly by moving the switch lever towards you.

To replace the headlight, disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Automatic switching on of exterior lighting when the vehicle is stationary (accompanying exterior lighting)

Depending on the modification, cars are equipped with an automatic dipped-beam system (when the engine is not running) to illuminate the area in front of the car.

This function is only available when the ignition is off, with the exterior lights in neutral, turn signals and fog lights off, and for 30-second periods (no more than two minutes).

Enable

The function is activated using the turn signal, ambient light and fog light switch lever:

  • – move the card in the reader to the 1st fixed position;
  • - turn on the headlights for a short time by moving the switch lever;
  • – dipped headlights turn on for 30 seconds.

Each time the high beam alarm is switched off, the duration of the low beam activation increases by 30 seconds (no more than two minutes in total).

This feature is disabled when the side lights or ignition are turned on.

Automatic switching on of exterior lighting while driving

This function is switched on or off by the switch for exterior lighting, direction indicators and fog light, if the UCH is correctly configured.

With the engine stopped, or with the vehicle stationary and the engine running, press and hold the "Auto" switch on the end of the light, turn signal, and fog light switch lever.

When the status changes, the instrument panel beeps and a message appears.

From this mom Enta system works in automatic mode.

To return to manual control mode, follow the same steps.

Halogen headlight beam adjustment

We adjust using this method only with halogen lamps, with gas discharge lamps we need to adjust using an optical stand.

Checking the air pressure in the tires.

We install the car perpendicular to a smooth wall at a distance of three meters.

There must be an assistant or a load of 75 kg on the driver's seat.

Renault Megane 2 headlights

Let's mark the screen on the wall, as shown in the picture.

The longitudinal plane of symmetry of the car must pass along line 0 on the screen.

The distance "A" between lines 1 and 2 must be equal to the distance between the centers of the dipped beam lamps.

Rock the car from the side so that the suspension springs self-adjust.

We measure the height of the headlight centers on your car from the ground. This will be the "h" distance on the screen.

Renault Megane 2 headlights

Set the headlight electrocorrector control on the instrument panel to the position corresponding to the load of the car with one driver.

Turn on low beam.

We adjust the direction of the light spot for each headlight separately. We cover the second headlight.

Headlight adjustment screws: A - vertical beam adjustment screw, B - horizontal adjustment screw

Open the hood and, by turning the adjusting screws, adjust the position of the light spot for each headlight horizontally, and then vertically.

Headlights are considered adjusted when the upper borders of the left parts of the light spots coincide with line 4, and the vertical lines 1 and 2 pass through the points E1 and E2 of the intersection of the horizontal and inclined sections of the light spots.

Hatch for access to headlight unit

To access the adjusting screw in the horizontal plane, use a 6mm Allen wrench through the wheel arch hatch

Replacing halogen headlight bulbs

The bulb replacement methods differ depending on the engine installed on the vehicle:

  • 1. Through the hatch in the fender liner (Fig. 4);
  • 2. Through the engine compartment.
