Replacing the transverse arm of the car's rear suspension
Performing the following procedures without first removing the anti-lock braking system wheel speed sensor may result in an open circuit in the wiring harness if the harness is taut by mistake
Before performing the following operations, remove the anti-lock braking system wheel speed sensor (hub side) and mount it in a suitable location where the sensor will not be mistakenly damaged during maintenance.
Preparing the car for the task
Remove the anti-lock braking system wheel speed sensor.
Disconnect the parking brake cable.
We install stops under the front wheels and hang out the back of the car
Remove the wheel from the side of the task being performed
Support the longitudinal link with a jack (fig. 2)
Using a 17 socket wrench, unscrew the bolt securing the lever to the subframe
Using the same wrench, unscrew the bolt securing the upper rear transverse arm to the trailing arm and remove the arm
Install the new lever in reverse order
Orient the lever with the inscription IN in the direction of the center of the car
We finally tighten the lever mounting bolts by lowering the car on the wheels
Bolt tightening torque 90-122 Nm
After assembly, we check and, if necessary, adjust the angles of the rear wheels
Replacing the rubber-metal bushings of the lever
Press out the upper arm bushing using the special tools (fig. 3)
Installation
Mark the new bushing as shown in Figure 4
Press the sleeve according to the marking using special tools (Fig. 5)
Check that the distance A-B is 14.0-16.0 mm (Fig. 6)
Install other components in the reverse order of removal.
