We remove the gearbox to replace clutch parts and for repair
We install the car on a lift or a viewing ditch
Disconnect the battery terminals and remove it
Remove the engine cover
Disconnect the PCM connector (A) and remove the air filter (B)
Remove the battery shelf (A)
Disconnect the ground wire (A) from the gearbox
Remove the rear light switch (A) and speedometer (B)
Remove the shift select cable assembly (A)
Remove the clutch release cylinder (A)
Drain the power steering coolant and unscrew the bolt securing the power steering high pressure hose
Using fixture 09200-38001, we fix the power plant
Removing the protection of the power plant
Unscrew the drain plug (A) and drain the oil, having unscrewed the filler plug (B) before that
Drain the power steering fluid
Disconnect the electric power steering connector
We unscrew the bolts of the ball joint of the lower arm assembly
Unscrew the stabilizer bar bolts
After removing the steering knuckle and nut from the tie rod end, disconnect it
Disconnect the hose (A) after removing the clamp (B) of the power steering return hose
Remove the bracket (B) from the front retainer (A)
Remove the bracket (B) from the rear retainer (A)
Unscrew the steering column bolt
Unscrew the lower mounting bolts (A) of the gearbox
After disconnecting the outlet tube (A), remove the holder (B) and disconnect the oxygen sensor connector (C)
Supporting the cross beam (A) with a jack, remove the rack (C) with bolts (B)
Disconnect the drive shafts (A) from the gearbox (B) using a special mounting blade
Supporting the box with a jack, remove the support bracket (A) and the upper mounting bolts (B)
Gradually lowering the jack, remove the gearbox
We install the gearbox in the reverse order
Bolt tightening torques:
- - support bracket 42.2- 53.9 Nm;
- - gearbox mounting bracket 63.7~83.4 Nm;
- - cross beam 137.3~156.9 Nm and 44.1-58.8 Nm (uprights);
- - steering column 14.7-19.6 Nm;
- - retainer bracket 49.0-63.7 Nm;
- - stabilizer struts 98.1-117.7 Nm;
- - lower arm ball joint 98.1-117.7 Nm;
- - pressure hose 63.7-73.5 Nm;
- - drain plug 29.4-34.3 Nm;
- - tie rod end nuts 23.5-33.3 Nm.
