Diagnostic function

Connect the HI - SCAN scanner to the diagnostic connector.

Read fault codes.

In memory (RAM), 8 fault codes can be stored in the order in which they appear.

The same DTC cannot be stored as many times as the fault occurs at the same time.

If faults occur, after 8 fault codes are stored in the memory, the fault codes will be erased starting from the codes that were stored first.

Do not disconnect the battery until all recorded fault codes have been read, as they will be erased when the battery is disconnected.

If the system is activated and the transmission is locked in third gear, a DTC will be stored in RAM.

In this case, three diagnostic trouble codes may be stored in the memory.

Cancellation will occur if, with the transmission locked in third gear, the ignition key is turned to the OFF position and the DTC is stored in RAM.

Storing diagnostic codes

Up to 8 diagnosis items and 3 items can be memorized.

If the capacity of the drive is exceeded the diagnosis and the items will be overwritten starting from the codes that were written first.

Delete diagnostic codes

Auto Deletion

All diagnostic codes are cleared from memory 200 times after the ATF temperature reaches 50°C after the most recent diagnostic code is stored.

Forced deletion

Learned diagnostic codes can be cleared using the HI-SCAN if the following conditions are met:

  • - ignition on;
  • - there are no pulses from the crankshaft angle sensor;
  • - there are no pulses from the driven shaft speed sensor;
  • - there are no impulses from the vehicle speed sensor;
  • - Fault function does not work.

Inspection chart of diagnostic codes

Code - Element - Probable Cause

P0713 - Oil temperature sensor - Open circuit - Sensor failure

P0712 - If the sensor output voltage is more than 4.57 V after 10 minutes (if the oil temperature does not increase), it is considered that there is an open sensor circuit and the code P0713 - Damaged connector is stored

P0715 - Input shaft speed sensor

If no output pulse is detected from the input shaft speed sensor in either 1st or 2nd gear, engaging 3rd gear above 30 km/h is considered an open or shorted circuit and will set code P0715.

If code P0715 is written four times, the third gear will be locked and the N indicator lamp will flash at a frequency of 1 Hz.

- Short circuit / open circuit - Sensor damage; damage to the downshift holder; connector damage; TCM damage

P0720 - Output shaft speed sensor

If the output from the output shaft speed sensor is 50% lower than the vehicle speed at the first or and when the third or fourth gear is engaged, the speed is more than 30 km / h, it is considered that the circuit has an open or short circuit and the code P0720 will be stored.
