We prepare the car and install it on a lift or jack up the front of the car and install it on reliable stops
Weaken the nut of the upper mounting of the shock strut (if we remove the strut to replace the shock absorber, spring or upper support)
Remove the wheel speed sensor wire holder from the steering knuckle
We unscrew the bolt securing the brake hose brackets and ABS sensor wiring harnesses and remove both brackets from the shock strut
Disconnect the upper hinge of the stabilizer strut from the shock strut bracket
We unscrew the two nuts securing the bolts of the steering knuckle to the shock strut, while the bolts are not removed
We unscrew the three nuts securing the upper support of the shock strut to the body
We take out two bolts securing the steering knuckle to the shock strut, disconnect the strut from the steering knuckle and remove it from the car
Install the shock strut and all parts in reverse order
Disassembling and assembling the shock absorber strut
Remove the shock strut as described above
Fix the shock strut in a vise
For fastening in a vice, we install a bolt of its fastening to the steering knuckle with two nuts in the shock strut bracket, as shown in the photo
And we clamp the rack for this bolt through aluminum plates
Compress the spring with zip ties
Unscrew the rod nut and remove the upper shock strut support from the rod
Remove the thrust bearing, upper spring plate, protective cover
Remove the spring, compression buffer and lower spring spacer
Springs only need to be replaced in pairsmi (right and left at the same time)
We install the shock absorber vertically and lower and raise the shock absorber rod several times until it stops
We make sure that the rod moves without dips, jamming and knocking. Otherwise, replace the shock absorber
In addition, it is necessary to replace the shock absorber if fluid leaks are detected and if the threads in the upper part of the stem are damaged
Install parts in reverse order
When installing the spring, make sure that the end of the lower coil rests against the special protrusion of the lower spring cup
The protective cover and the upper spring plate must be installed so that the arrows printed on them point towards the outside of the car
Finally tighten the shock absorber rod nut on the car, standing on the ground, with a torque of 70 Nm
