We replace pipelines if they are worn and severely bent, as well as in case of damage
We replace the hoses in case of swelling, cracks and other damage
The Renault Megan 2 has four brake hoses: two on the base of the body to connect the connection pipes on the rear suspension beam and two front brake hoses.
Replacing the brake hoses of the front wheels
We place stops under the rear wheels and raise the front of the car.
Remove the front wheels.
We unscrew the pipeline fastening nut and put a plug on the pipeline
Remove the brake hose from the shock strut bracket
Unscrew the hose fitting from the working cylinder of the front wheel brake mechanism
Remove the brake hose from the car
Install the hose in reverse order.
We also replace the hose on the other side.
After replacing the hose, we bleed the brake system.
Replacing the brake hoses of the rear wheels
We put the stops under the front wheels, raise the rear of the car and remove the rear wheels.
We unscrew the two nuts securing the pipelines fixed to the rear suspension beam
We take the pipelines aside and put the plugs from the bleeding valves.
Remove the hose ends from the rear suspension beam bracket
We unscrew the two nuts securing the pipelines fixed to the base of the body
Remove the brake hoses from the body base bracket
Install the hoses in reverse order. After replacing the hoses, we pump the brakes.
Replacing brake lines
We install the car on a lift or a viewing hole.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Unscrew the pipe nuts on the ABS hydroelectronic module
We hook and remove the fasteners and remove the noise insulation June
Release pipelines from holders
Unscrew the nut securing the pipeline to the front wheel brake hose
We also unscrew the pipeline fastening nut on the other side.
Remove the pipelines of the brake mechanisms of the front wheels.
We unscrew the nut securing the pipeline to the working cylinder of the rear wheel brake mechanism.
We also unscrew the pipeline from the other side
We unscrew the two nuts securing the pipelines fixed to the rear suspension beam
Put pipelines aside
Remove from the holders the pipelines fixed on the rear suspension beam
On the right side, on the base of the body, unscrew the two nuts of the front fastening of the mudguard
We unscrew the four nuts securing the rear mudguard
Remove the mudguard
We remove the pipelines from the holders on the base of the body in the rear
We remove the pipelines from the holders in the front of the body
Install the pipelines in reverse order.
Make sure the brake pipes are secured in the holders without pinching and that the pipes are not overlapped.
When the brake pipes overlap, the ABS and the trajectory stabilization system do not work well.
Torque tighten:
- - rigid pipeline in the area of the rear suspension beam (14 Nm);
- - rigid pipeline in the area of the brake caliper (14 Nm).
