Power windows of the front doors are equipped with part of the production of cars
Unlike a mechanical window regulator with a gear reducer, an electric window regulator has only a cable drum driven by a gearmotor.
The gearmotor consists of a worm gear and a DC motor with permanent magnet excitation.
The gearmotor is reversible, the direction of rotation of its output shaft changes in accordance with the change in the direction of the current in the armature winding.
There is a built-in thermal bimetallic fuse for overload protection.
Scheme for switching on the power window is shown in fig. 1.
Motors 4 and 5 are switched on by switches 3 and 6 located on the armrests of the doors.
Power is supplied to the switches through the F5 fuse only when the ignition is on, when relay 2 contacts are closed.
To turn on the power windows, relay 904.3747-10 is used, located to the left of the steering column on a bracket mounted on the fuse and relay mounting block.
If the power windows fail, remove the door upholstery and check if power is supplied to the gearmotors.
Check the fuse and power window relay on the mounting block, repair the broken wire connections, replace the faulty gearmotor.
Data for checking the gearmotor
Frequency of rotation of the gearmotor shaft at idle at a supply voltage of (13.5±0.1) V and an ambient temperature of (25±10) °С, min -1 56–90
Consumed current at the above load and speed, A 1.2–5.0
