The steering wheel is removed when removing the steering column and for other repairs
Remove the key from the ignition.
Turn the steering wheel until the steering shaft lock is activated.
With a felt-tip pen, we make marks on the instrument panel and on the steering wheel. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
On three sides we evenly pry the cover of the horn switch
Remove the cover
Using a screwdriver, we press on the latch of the block of wires of the horn switches
Disconnect the wiring harness from the connector located in the steering wheel hub.
With a 24 head with an extension, we unscrew, but not completely, the nut securing the steering wheel to the steering shaft.
Swinging, we pull the steering wheel towards us in order to remove it from the splines of the steering shaft
If the steering wheel sits strongly, then the assistant pulls the steering wheel along the axis of the steering column, and we strike the end of the steering shaft with a hammer through a soft metal drift.
Finally unscrew the steering wheel nut
Remove the steering wheel
We install the steering wheel in the reverse order, guided by the marks.
