Remove the hood for replacement or repair
To remove the hood you will need tools: wrenches 10, 32, TORX T30, flat blade screwdriver
Opening the hood
Remove the washer hose from the holders and remove the hose from the hood
The location of the washer hose holders is shown in Figure 2
Mark the location of the hinge brackets relative to the hood with a marker
Unscrew two nuts securing the hood to the hinges on each side and remove the hood
When replacing the hood, unscrew the two fastening bolts and remove the bracket of the safety hook of the hood lock
While holding the hood latch, loosen the locknut and unscrew the latch.
Remove the spring and washer.
Install the hood in reverse order.
If we install an old hood, then before tightening the nuts of the bracket, it is necessary to orient it according to the previously applied marks.
If a different or new hood is installed, then you need to adjust the position of the hood so that the gaps between the hood and the wings are the same, and the gap between the upper cross member of the radiator frame and the edge of the hood is uniform throughout its entire length.
Replacing the hood lock
To replace, you will need tools: wrenches for 10, 32, TORX T30, a flat-blade screwdriver.
Remove the upper cross member of the radiator frame
We unscrew the two bolts securing the hood lock to the upper cross member of the radiator frame
Raise the lock and take it away from the radiator frame
Remove the tip from the holder on the lock body
Remove the tip of the cable from the loop of the lock lever and remove the hood lock
Install the lock in reverse order.
Before installation, we lubricate the locking mechanism of the lock with lithol.
If the lock does not close well or and does not open well, adjust the position of the latch on the hood.
Removing and installing the hood lock lever
Removing the lower lining of the left A-pillar (article Removing Renault interior parts Megan 2)
We press the latch and set aside the mounting block located in the passenger compartment
Press out the latches
We move the lever to the side by the length of the hood lock cable
Press out the latches
And remove the bracket for fastening the hood lock lever
Disconnect the drive cable from the lever by pulling the tip of the cable out of the groove of the lever
Install the removed parts in reverse order.
