In the article, we will consider disassembly, removal, installation and adjustment of the car hood
Preparing the car and opening the hood
We take out the fastening clips of the noise-proof upholstery of the hood and remove the upholstery
Disconnect the washer tube from the adapter and set it aside
If we install the same hood, then mark its position relative to the hinges with a felt-tip pen
Using a screwdriver, we hook and remove the retainer for fastening the right support to the hood panel and disconnect the support
To replace the support, disconnect the fastening of the hood support to the body panel
We install the hood on a stop, for example, on a wooden block of a suitable size
In the same way, disconnect the left support from the hood panel
Holding the hood (made by an assistant), unscrew the two bolts securing the hood to both hinges and remove the hood
Install
Install the hood and tighten the bolts without tightening them
When opening the hood, set it so that the gaps between the hood and the fenders are the same on both sides, and the gap between the lower front panel and the rear of the hood is uniform throughout
Carefully lift the hood and finally tighten the hood bolts
We adjust the hood in height by changing the height of the adjusting buffers.
Adjustment buffer must be set so that the surface of the hood coincides with the surface of the fenders
Install all parts in reverse order

Press the latch and disconnect the wire blocks of the hood lock
We unscrew the two bolts securing the hood lock to the radiator frame panel and move the lock to the side
We remove the tip of the lock cable sheath from the holder on the lock body
Disconnect the tip of the cable from the lock lever and remove the lock
Disconnect the tip of the lock drive cable from the hood lock handle
We take out the hood lock cable into the engine compartment by pulling the cable sheath out of the holders
Install the lock in reverse order.
Before installing the hood lock, lubricate its parts with grease
If, after installation, the lock does not lock clearly or is difficult to unlock, adjust its position.
To do this, we loosen the tightening of the bolts of its fastening and, moving the lock in the transverse or longitudinal direction, we achieve shockless slamming of the hood.
After that, tighten the lock screws
