Replace the lever assembly if the gear sector or pawl is worn or damaged
Replace the front cable if it is overstretched (parking brake cannot be adjusted) or mechanically damaged.
You will need: key "13", pliers, screwdriver.
Disconnect the rear cable guide from the front cable lug (see Replacing the Rear Parking Brake Cable).
Remove the lining of the floor tunnel
We unscrew the two bolts securing the arm bracket to the floor
Remove the handbrake lever
Using a screwdriver, remove the retaining ring of the lever axis
Remove the axis of the cable end
We pull the cable inside the cabin
Install the new cable and lever in the reverse order of removal.
Adjust the parking brake system (see Checking and Adjusting the Parking Brake).
