The vehicle must be parked on a flat, level surface.

Checking the liquid level

  • 1. Apply the parking brake and chock the wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.
  • 2. Start the engine until the gearbox is warmed up to 60~70° C.
  • 3. With the engine running, depress the brake pedal and sequentially move the selector lever from position P to position R> N>D>1>2>D>N>R>P, holding the lever in each position for no more than 3 seconds.

Use COOL measurements (20° C) only as a guideline.

4. Check the fluid level, which should be between the HOT marks (65°C). If necessary, add the required amount of the required liquid.

Checking the automatic transmission oil level

Automatic transmission fluid type: SK ATF SP-III or DIAMOND ATF SP-III

Checking fluid status

Carefully check the condition of the fluid in the automatic transmission and determine if the automatic transmission really needs to be removed.

If the automatic transmission fluid is dirty and burnt, this indicates burnt plates or brake bands.

  • 1. Check the color of the automatic transmission fluid.
  • 2. Check the automatic transmission fluid for unusual odors. Compare fluid with fresh fluid to determine color and odor changes.

Replacing fluid

1. Place a drip pan under the gearbox.

Automatic transmission oil drain plug location

  • 2. Remove the plug and drain all fluid from the automatic transmission.
  • 3. Screw the plug back in place.

Tightening torque: 39 - 54 Nm

  • 4. Remove the dipstick to measure the liquid level and fill in the required amount of the required liquid.

Automatic transmission fluid type: SK ATF SP-III or DIAMOND ATF SP-III

Capacity: 5.9 l

Do not overfill above the HOT mark. If accidentally poured, then you need to drain the excess oil.

  • 5. Check the fluid level in the automatic transmission.

Automatic transmission converter fluid change procedure

Fill the transducer with the required amount of the required fluid.
