Memory Fuse

 Memory Fuse

The car is equipped with a Memory fuse that prevents the battery from draining if the car is not driven for one or more months.

Before parking for an extended period, follow the steps below.

  • 1. Turn off the engine.
  • 2. Turn off headlights and side lights.
  • 3. Open the main fuse box in the engine compartment and first remove the "ROOM 15A" fuse. This changes the "MEMORY" mode, which prevents the battery from being drained.

If the Memory fuse is removed from the fuse box, the radio and interior lamp will not work.

After installing the Memory fuse in its place, you must re-enter the secret code of the audio system and adjust the frequencies.

Removing the Memory fuse does not prevent battery drain caused by running headlights and other electrical devices while the engine is not running.

If some of the vehicle's lights, accessories, or controls are not working, check the fuse for the appropriate electrical circuit.

If the fuse is blown, the element inside the fuse will melt. Always replace a blown fuse with one of the same current rating.

If the newly installed fuse blows again, it means that there is a problem in the electrical network.

Try not to use the system in which the problem is suspected and consult an authorized Kia dealer immediately.

Two types of fuses are used: standard for low current and main for high current.
