Replacing the front oil seal of the automatic transmission differential (U140E/U241E)

Remove the front wheels

Remove the lower engine guards.

Remove the automatic transmission drain plug and drain the fluid.

After replacing the drain plug gasket, install it in place by tightening it with a tightening torque of 49 Nm.

Remove the front drive shaft assembly.

Using the special tool 09308-00010, remove the oil seal of the front cover of the final drive housing (Fig. 1).

Using the special tool 09308-00010, remove the gearbox housing oil seal (fig. 2).

Lubricate the sealing lip of the new oil seal with MP grease.

Using the special tool 09608-10010 and a hammer, press in the new oil seal (fig. 3).

Depth of pressing: (0±0.5) mm.

Be careful not to damage the sealing lip.

Coat the sealing lip of the new oil seal with MP grease.

Using the special tool 09608-32010 and a hammer, install the new oil seal (fig. 4).

Reassemble and install the rest of the elements in the reverse order of removal.
