We remove the front suspension subframe for repair, as well as for access to other units of the car
We prepare the car and install it on a lift or an inspection ditch
Hang out the front of the car and remove the front wheels
Remove the lower mudguards of the engine
We put marks on the steering shaft and the steering shaft universal joint yoke
Set the steering wheel to the position corresponding to the rectilinear movement of the car
Unscrew the terminal connection bolt and disconnect the steering shaft from the steering gear shaft
Before disconnecting the steering gear shafts, we fix the steering wheel with a seat belt.
This will prevent damage to the coiled airbag cable installed in the steering column
Disconnect the tie rods from the steering knuckle levers
We unscrew one bolt, two nuts each and disconnect the lower front suspension arms from the ball joints
Disconnect the pressure pipe from the power steering pump
We drain the working fluid from the hydraulic booster pipeline
We compress the bent ears of the clamp for fastening the drain hose going to the power steering reservoir with pliers and disconnect the hose from the tube attached to the subframe
We drain the working fluid from the drain pipeline
Remove the exhaust pipe of the exhaust system, as described in the article "How to replace mufflers and muffler suspension pads Toyota Camry"
Disconnect the lower hinges of the anti-roll bars from the stabilizer bar
Remove the hood
Remove the decorative engine cover
We install hooks for hanging the engine, fasten the slings of the lifting mechanism to them and tighten the slings
Unscrew the nuts securing the power unit to the left and right support
We unscrew the three nuts securing the front support of the power plant to the subframe
We install reliable supports under the subframe
We unscrew two bolts, unscrew one nut each and remove the front subframe mounting brackets
We unscrew two bolts, unscrew one nut each and remove the rear subframe mounting brackets
Remove the front suspension subframe assembly with the lower arms, steering gear and stabilizer bar, lowering it down
Install parts in reverse order
Tightening torques for threaded connections:
Front suspension subframe mounting bolts - 85 Nm;
Bolts and nuts for fastening the brackets of the front suspension subframe - 70 Nm;
Nuts for fastening the upper strut support to the body - 85 Nm;
Nuts and ball joint bolt - 75 Nm;
Stabilizer bracket mounting bolts - 27 Nm;
Suspension arm rear bolt nut - 206 Nm;
Suspension arm front mounting bolts - 200 Nm;
Hub nut - 294 Nm
Pumping the power steering system
Check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment
