When the throttle is not fully open or not fully closed (unstable idle), first try adjusting the throttle cable
If adjusting the throttle actuator fails to achieve full throttle opening or closing, or if the actuator sticks, replace the actuator cable.
You will need: wrench "13" (two), screwdrivers, pliers
Turn the throttle actuator sector
Remove the end of the cable from the throttle actuator sector.
Loosen the nuts securing the cable sheath to the bracket and pull the cable out of the slot in the bracket.
Remove the cable from the retainer on the engine.
Unpin the axle of the throttle cable lug
Remove the stop and remove the end of the cable.
Slide the cable sheath
Pry off the rubber bushing with a screwdriver to remove the throttle cable.
Install the cable in the reverse order of removal.
Adjust the throttle actuator.
Removing and installing the throttle pedal
Unpin the axle of the throttle cable lug
Remove the stop and remove the end of the cable
Remove the two pedal mounting bolts and remove it
Carefully inspect the plastic gaskets of the throttle pedal shaft.
If signs of wear are visible, replace the gaskets.
