We remove the power steering pump for replacement, as well as when dismantling the engine
You will need keys for 13, Torx T40, sockets for 10, 13, pliers, pipe wrench
We prepare the car for the task and install it on a viewing hole or a lift
Remove the right front wheel
Remove the right side and lower front fender mudguards
Remove crankcase protection
Remove the belt of auxiliary units, as described in the article - Replacing the drive belt of the Lada Largus K4M engine
We pump out the working fluid from the power steering reservoir
If a car with a K4M engine, unscrew the two nuts securing the fuel rail cover
Slide off the studs and remove the protective cover
We remove the generator, as described in the article - Removing and installing the generator of the car Lada Largus
Loosen the inlet hose clamp by squeezing the clamp antennae and slide the clamp along the hose
Disconnect the hose from the hydraulic pump fitting
We unscrew the bolt of the lower fastening of the pressure pipe to the cylinder block
We unscrew the bolt of the upper fastening to the bracket of the power steering pump
Unscrew the pressure pipe fastening nut
And take the tip of the tube away from the pump
We plug the pipes and hoses with suitable plugs so that the liquid does not leak out
We unscrew the two bolts of the rear mounting of the pump to the bracket
We unscrew the upper bolt of the pump front mounting through the holes in the pulley
Scrolling the pulley, we unscrew in turn the two lower bolts of the front mounting
We push the pump out of the bracket, move it back and take it out of the engine compartment up
Power steering pump installation
Install the pump in reverse order.
Scheme of tightening the bolts of the power steering pump:
- - tighten bolts 5 for fastening the pump from the side of the pump drive pulley;
- - tighten the bolts 9 for fastening the hydraulic pump on the opposite side
Bolt tightening torques:
- - for vehicles with K7M engine - 21 Nm
- - for vehicles with K4M engine - 25 Nm
Remove the plugs from the pipelines and pump holes
Before installing the tubes, you need to replace the fitting rings
We install a new o-ring and connect the high pressure pipe fitting to the pump. Connector tightening torque 21 Nm
Connect the low pressure pipe to the pump and secure it with a clamp
Installing the accessory drive belt
For vehicles with K7M engine equipped with air conditioning:
We wrap the bolt 8 fastening the high pressure pipe to the bracket 6 of the mounted units. Bolt tightening torque 21 Nm
For vehicles with K7M engine not equipped with air conditioning:
Installing the front bumper
For vehicles with K4M engine:
We install the bolt in the lug of the high-pressure tube mounting bracket and fix the tube by screwing the bolt into the corresponding hole on the cylinder block. Bolt tightening torque 21 Nm
Installing the fuel rail protection
Install the crankcase protection and mudguards and install the right front wheel

Removing air from the power steering system
Removing and installing the power steering pump pulley
Remove the pump as described above
We install the power steering pump in a vise with soft jaws with the pulley up
We install a stop with a diameter of 17 mm on the pump shaft
We install a universal two-jaw puller in the windows of the pump pulley and remove the pulley
Pulley installation
Using a tool, we press the pulley
When pressing the pulley, the installation dimension must be ensured. Lubricate the pulley seating surface and the threaded surface of the power screw of the pulley press tool before pressing it in.
