Launch conditions

With the gear selector in the "K" or "P" position, press the brake pedal.

If one of the conditions for starting the engine is not met, the message "Disengage clutch + Start button" or "Press brake + Start button" appears on the instrument panel;
- in some cases it is necessary to turn the steering wheel while pressing the start button (3) to unlock the steering column.

To be able to use some sanctions when the engine is stopped (car radio, navigation system, etc.), press the button (3) only.
Starting with the fifth door open (hands free mode)
If it is necessary to start the engine with the fifth door open, remove the cover and insert the card into the reader (2).
Stop the engine
Engine shutdown conditions
- car stopped;
- - on vehicles with automatic transmission, the gear selector is in the "N" or "P" position;

When the engine is stopped, additional equipment (radio, air conditioning, etc.) continues to work.
When the driver's door is opened, the optional equipment is switched off.

When the card is in the reader (2), pressing the engine start/stop button (Start/Stop) stops the engine.
If there is no card in the reader, the message "confirm engine stop" will appear on the instrument panel after the first press.
To confirm the stop of the engine, you must press the button (3) two more times.

Do not leave your Renault card in the car when leaving the car, especially if there is a child (or animal) in the car.
A child may accidentally start the engine or turn on electrical equipment (such as power windows), which is associated with a risk of injury (pinched neck, hand, fingers, etc.).
In no case do not turn off the ignition until the car is completely stopped, because when the engine is not running, the vacuum brake booster, power steering, etc., as well as passive safety devices: airbags, pickups - seat belt tensioners stop working.
