Dismantling the front doors of Renault Megane 2

Removing the door lining

To remove the front door trim, you need tools: TORX keys T20, T40, a set of screwdrivers

Preparing the car for work. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Pry off the outer mirror cover

We remove it, overcoming the force of the clamps

We pry off with a screwdriver and set aside the decorative plug of the screw securing the inner handle of the door lock

Unscrew the screw securing the inner handle

Pry off with a screwdriver

Put aside the inner handle

We press the latches and disconnect the holder of the tip of the lock drive cable.

Remove the handle of the door lock

Pry on both sides with a screwdriver

Remove the lining of the armrest handle

We unscrew the two screws securing the door lining trim in the armrest handle

We unscrew the two screws securing the cladding from below

Remove one screw from the back

Pry off the power window control unit with a screwdriver

We set aside the power window control unit by the length of the wires

Squeeze the clamp of the wiring harness block

Disconnect the block and finally remove the power window control unit

Opening the door trim panel

Under the door lining trim, unscrew the screw securing the lining to the inner door panel

Remove the front door lock cable from the holder

Squeeze the latch and disconnect the connector block of the electric lock lock

Pry off with a screwdriver

Remove the speaker grille

Locks for securing the grille are shown in Figure 24

Remove the two screws securing the speakers

Press out the latch

Disconnect the wiring harness block from the speaker

We unscrew the three screws securing the door trim located under the speaker grill

We remove the protrusions of the window regulator mechanism from engagement with the door lining.

Pry up and remove the trim from the door panel.

Spread The position of the protrusions of the power window mechanism is shown in Figure 30.

Install the front door trim and all removed parts in reverse order.

Replacing the front door glass

For work you will need: screwdrivers and a TORX T20 key

Lower the glass to the lower position

Disconnect the negative battery terminal

Remove the front door trim as described above

Temporarily connect the battery, connect the power window control unit.

Push the power window control key to the position where the glass fasteners to the slider will be located in a position convenient for access to them.

Remove the inner glass seal

Remove the outer glass seal

We press the left lock of the glass to the slider

We press the right lock of the glass to the slider

Remove the glass from the door, taking out its rear corner up

Install the glass of the front door and all the details in the reverse order

Replacing the front door lock

To work, you will need tools: a TORX T20 wrench, a set of screwdrivers

Flip up the front door trim

Remove the outer handle as described below.

Press out the latch

And remove the shield

We unscrew the three screws securing the lock to the door frame

We press the retainer of the bracket for attaching the outer handle to the door and protalwe nod the bracket into the cavity of the door with a screwdriver

We take out the door lock assembly with the base of the outer handle, removing it through the technological hole in the door panel.

We remove the tip of the cable from the groove of the base of the outer handle and disconnect the cable for the door lock drive.

Install the door lock and all parts in reverse order

Replacing the outside handle and front door lock switch

To work, you will need tools: a TORX T20 wrench, a set of screwdrivers, a wire hook.

Flip up the front door lining, as described above

Press out the latch

Remove the shield

Remove the decorative trim of the front door lock switch

Pry off with a screwdriver and remove the plug of the hole in the back of the front door

Insert the hook made of wire into the hole

We wind the hook behind the locking bar of the switch and unlock the locking bar by pulling it towards you (shown on the removed lock)

Remove the front door lock switch

Move the outer handle back in the direction of the arrow

Remove the handle from the car

Remove the outer handle seal

Install all parts in reverse order.
