The windshield wiper kit consists of a wiper drive, levers and brushes
Scheme for turning on the cleaner is shown in fig. 1.
The cleaner has three modes of operation.
I mode - intermittent. This mode is provided by an electronic relay K2 type 524.3747 or 523.3747 installed in the mounting block.
This relay also energizes the wiper gearmotor (low speed) when the windshield washer is turned on.
- II mode - constant, with a low speed of the brushes.
- III mode - constant, with a high speed of brush movement.
The windshield wiper relay terminal connection diagram is shown in fig. 1.
The relay must ensure the inclusion of the electric motor of the cleaner with a frequency of 14 ± 4 cycles per minute in the range of operation from idle (load only by rods) to load with a maximum effective torque of 3.92 Nm (0.4 kgf m) at a speed of the gearmotor shaft at least 20 min -1, at a temperature of (20±5) °C and a supply voltage of (14±0.2) V.
Data for checking the gearmotor
The frequency of rotation of the gearmotor shaft at a supply voltage of 13.5 V, a load torque of 2 Nm and an ambient temperature of (25 + 10) ° С, min -1:
- - first (small) - 39–50
- - second (large) - 59–72
Consumed current at the above load moment, A, no more:
- - at first speed - 4
- - second speed - 4.7
The rear window cleaner consists of a gearmotor, a lever and a brush. Laying the lever with a brush, right in the direction of the car.
In the gear motors of the cleaners, a thermal bimetallic fuse is installed to protect against overloads.
Scheme for switching on the rear window cleaner is shown in fig. 2.
At the rear window cleaner, when the gear motor is loaded with a torque of 1 Nm, the supply voltage is 13.5 V, the temperature is (25 ± 10) ° С, the number of double strokes of the gear motor shaft should be in intermittent mode 1618 min -1 , in constant 2030 min -1, and the current consumption is not more than 3 A.
Replacing the windshield wiper relay
The windshield wiper relay terminal connection diagram is shown in fig. 1.
The relay must be able to switch the wiper operation to low speed when the windshield washer is turned on (if the wiper worked intermittently or was turned off).
After turning off the windshield washer, the wiper should do 2-4 complete cleaning cycles at low speed at a temperature of (20 ± 5) ° C and a supply voltage of (14 ± 0.2) V.
Remove the fuse and relay box cover.
Remove the wiper relay.
Install the new relay and close the cover of the unit.
