If, as a result of the check, play was found in the front hub bearings, then the bearings in both front hubs must be replaced

Do not remove the brake shield unless necessary.

Do not confuse the inner and outer hub bearings.

Remove

Remove the steering knuckle.

With a special tool OK130 331 AA0A, remove the hub.

Using special tools OK130 175 A18 and OK130 175 A17, remove the outer bearing, outer oil sealing ring and spacer from the hub

Replace the oil o-ring regardless of its condition.

Disassemble the steering knuckle.

Remove the bearing outer races gradually and carefully.

Use a screwdriver to remove the inner oil seal.

Remove the inner bearing.

Using special tools OK130 170 015 and a hammer, remove the outer ring of the inner bearing.

Prevent the outer race of the inner bearing from falling when it is removed.

Do not remove the brake shield unless necessary.

Do not reinstall a previously removed brake shield.

Mark the relative position of the brake shield and the steering knuckle.

Use a chisel to remove the brake shield from the steering knuckle

Check

Wash all parts before inspection. Replace any damaged parts.

Remove minor traces of rust with fine-grained sandpaper.

Check the bearing for wear, damage and jamming.

Replace the bearing assembly (inner and outer races).

Check the steering knuckle for cracks or damage, as well as rust and wear in the bearing mounting areas.

Check the brake shield for damage.

Check the hub for cracks or damage, as well as rust and wear at the bearings.

Assembly

If the bearings or knuckle have been replaced, the bearing preload must be adjusted before reassembly.

If the brake plate was removed, use the special tool to install a new brake plate.

Install the bearing outer races into the steering knuckle.

Apply lithium grease to the areas shown.

Mount the inner bearing as far as it will go into the steering knuckle hole.

Lubricate the sealing lip of the new inner oil seal

Install the inner oil o-ring into the hole

Install the previously removed spacer or the bushing selected during the preload adjustment of the bearings into the knuckle bore.

Install the outer bearing into the steering knuckle hole.

Lubricate the sealing lip of the new outer oil seal.

Install a new outer oil seal into the hole.

Install the steering knuckle.

Using a special tool OK130 331 AA0A, install the hub into the steering knuckle.
