We replace the air filter element every 40,000 km of the car’s run, and check the condition after 20,000 km of the car’s run
We unscrew the two bolts and lift the air filter cover, remove it from the hinges, and remove the filter element from the housing
Use a vacuum cleaner and a clean rag to remove dust and dirt from the case
We install the filter element in the housing, orienting it in the same way as it was installed
We engage the hinges of the air filter cover and fix it with two bolts
Removing and installing the air filter
We remove the air filter for replacement, as well as to gain access to other units in the engine compartment
Preparing the car and opening the hood
Weaken the hose clamp of the crankcase ventilation system by squeezing its bent ears with pliers
Disconnect the hose from the air inlet
Disconnect the wiring harness block from the mass air flow sensor
Disconnect the wiring harness from the canister purge valve of the evaporative emission system
Squeeze the ears of the clamp and disconnect the hose from the side pipe of the canister purge valve
Disconnect the wire harness holder from the air filter cover
Disconnect the hose from the lower branch pipe of the canister purge valve
Disconnect the air supply hose from the throttle assembly by squeezing the bent ears of the fastening clamp with pliers
We unscrew the two bolts securing the air filter cover
Remove the cover assembly with the air supply sleeve and the air filter element
Unscrew the two air intake bolts
We unscrew the three bolts securing the air filter housing
Remove the case together with the air intake
Install the air filter and all removed parts in reverse order
