On the VAZ-2123 engine since 2009, a bracket has been installed on which the steering hydraulic pump, the support roller of the auxiliary drive belt and the engine oil filter
Since the bracket is also a pipeline for supplying and draining oil, sealing rubber rings are installed between it and the engine crankcase.
When repairing the engine or when oil leaks between this bracket and the crankcase, these rings must be changed.
We perform work on a lift or a viewing hole.
Remove the power steering pump for this:
Loosen the auxiliary drive belt and remove it from the hydraulic pump pulley.
Do not disconnect hoses for supplying and discharging hydraulic fluid.
Using a 13 spanner, unscrew the bolt of the lower fastening of the pump plate
With the same wrench, unscrew the bolt of the upper mounting of the plate
Using a 13 key, we unscrew the bolt of the lower mounting of the pump to the oil filter bracket (In the figure, the hydraulic booster hose is removed)
Unscrew the top pump mounting bolt
Remove the power steering pump and tie the pump to the front suspension cross member bracket.
Remove the oil filter.
After this:
With a 13 head, we unscrew the three bolts securing the oil filter bracket to the cylinder block
Remove the bracket with the auxiliary drive belt support roller.
Remove the small ring. The ring has a rectangular cross section
Remove the big ring.
The ring has a circular cross section.
Wipe mating surfaces
We put the small ring on the pipe collar, and insert the large ring into the groove of the bracket flange
Apply a thin layer of engine oil to the rings and assemble in reverse order
